Christie, Brown and Co. Bakery (1872-1920) from a chromolithograph by Clark Lithographic Co., c1902. Mr Christie did, in fact, make good cookies. Starting in 1853, Christie's was considered the largest biscuit company in Canada. In 1872, Christie moved from Yonge Street to their new downtown home, taking up a city block between Duke Street (now Adelaide Street East) and King, George and Frederick. The Christie, Brown and Co. Bakery is now home to the King Street Campus of George Brown College.
